Christel van de Craats by Dennis Swiatkowski

Finally, the Sun shone in Amsterdam for the first time this Spring. It was still cold as the antarctic, but my (model) friend Christel and I decided to champion the freeze and click a couple of snapshots. Results after the jump!

Through my Eyes // 2 Interviews

Over the past few weeks I have been interviewed by two sweet publications. MB! Magazine and leading Dutch Arts website 'Smile in your face' asked me about how I started out, why I prefer to photograph a very particular style and subject and more candid stuff. Check it out. :)

AJI // Delikatessen
A little project I did together with Delikatessen. Shot more or less impromptu I followed Andrzej around as he talks about his label Delikatessen and the important role food plays in his life.
Originally from Warsaw, Poland. Andrzej Lisowski moved to Holland for love and founded menswear label Delikatessen in 2009 in Amsterdam. // (a pilot)

Eeke Boonstra for MOAM &FOAM exhibition.

Last Thursday the launch of MOAM &FOAM took place and I am stoked to be a part of this group exhibition. MOAM gives the opportunity to new talent to work together and have their work exhibited at The Netherlands's most famous photography museum. I was linked with a photo by Erwin Olaf (clownesque series) and a piece of couturier Frans Molenaar. For anyone who knows my style and what I like to photograph this was one hell of a task, but I am very happy with the result. Eeke Boonstra from Future Faces models did a very good job translating the feeling I wanted to go for. If you want to check out the top right picture of the header in real life please make your way to MOAM &FOAM, the exhibition lasts until mid-March. (More pictures after the click.)

Maxime van der Heijden by Dennis Swiatkowski // Unpublished #

Last summer I shot a series with Maxime van der Heijden (who is currently blowing up and doing great work!) and Daphne Krooneman. It was probably on the warmest day of the year and we were surrounded by Dutch sand dunes on a race circuit. Quite the setting! See the rest of the shots after the jump.

A Change of View: Amsterdam for Bettery Magazine

Quite recently I have had the pleasure to document my city for Smart's Bettery Magazine. Their project 'A Change of View' challenges a local and an expat to document the same city from their respective views. Needless to say you usually get two very different perspectives, not only because one is an expat and one is not, but also because you are different persons with different aesthetic and interests. It was lovely to bike around Amsterdam with this exact purpose. You can see the story and images on Bettery Mag.

GET YOUR 'NINETY NINE GOING ON feat. HELEN LOOIJSE

'Get Your 'Ninety Nine Going On' is a series I shot in black and white, reminiscing of the past, set in contemporary Amsterdam whilst avoiding its cliche connotations. A 90s themed shoot, styled by Meriam Rouabah. Published via C-Heads.com. Also a big shout out to Helen (Ulla Models) and Lieke Sylvester (Make-Up+Hair)! Check the entire series after the jump.
