ONE MINUTE - SHONA LEE GAL

Shona and I shot a video a year ago in Paris, but due to unforeseen circumstances I have never been able to finish the edit. Fortunately she was keen to meet up again, only this time in the middle of the winter in Amsterdam. Filming Shona was so much fun as (we) she danced in the cold to music that gives me memories of hot summers instead of the cold weather that is currently sweeping across Europe. I hope you enjoy this ONE MINUTE and to catch up with my ONE MINUTE series, please check and subscribe to the ONE MINUTE Vimeo channel.

'BONTE WAS' FEAT. LUUS VINK & ADINDA DENNEMAN

Bonne (check) and I teamed up again after shooting our 'Drive With Me' series, which spread around the internet - mainly tumblr - like wildfire. This time we shot a series for VICE Netherlands and again I was in this late 80s early 90s Americana mood so I was glad to find a Laundromat that just gave me the setting I so desperately wanted to use. TENUE DE NîMES: A VIDEO INTERVIEW

Tenue de Nîmes is a Dutch denim and menswear speciality store and first opened its doors three years ago. Since their inception they were heralded as the 'it' store for menswear in Amsterdam. Now three years later they have a wide assortment of labels under their helm and release Journal de Nîmes every now and then, which is their own paper. Needless to say I was quite excited when I was able to interview the two men behind the success of this relatively small, yet exquisite store. I hope you all like the light hearted video. (Special thanks to Marina Henao for providing me with an opening banner.)

ON THE STREET - AMSTERDAM 01/2012

Although I am nowadays predominantly busy working on editorials, filming and doing a variety of mixed commercial stuff; this is how it all started. It's so refreshing to pick it up again and to be very very picky about who I photograph and consider to have style. Amsterdam is a difficult city to snap away on a daily basis, but once in a while you come across people who know how to dress up and carry themselves. I will try to capture these moments more often when I have a bit more time to do so. For more street style pictures by me click here.

SAINT GERMAIN - A VIDEO DIRECTED BY YOURS TRULY

It has been a while since my last post on here and that is mainly due to me being overloaded with commercial work. On my blog I essentially only want to post work that I think fits it's format. That's why I am wary of posting just anything. Today, however, I've new content to share!

A little more than a week ago I shot and directed the teaser above for Amsterdam based creative agency and concept boutique: SAINT GERMAIN. They are an adorable group of young people who have taken on the challenge of setting up a new agency. When they approached me to see if we could collaborate it only took me a few sips of my coffee and snippets of their story and what they are on about to say yes. I hope you all like the result. Check their website out here. And all Dutch residents make sure to attend their opening launch on January 27, for more information check here.

ONE MINUTE - WING MEI

Once in a while I come across a character that I can only film in black and white. Wing Mei is such a person. She fuses a boyish haircut (although not so apparent in this video) with feminine style like no other. For this episode I asked her to wear something slightly retro and to typify this fusion. I believe it turned out exactly that way. To catch up with my ONE MINUTE series, please check and subscribe to the vimeo channel.

ONE MINUTE - VICTOR

Victor Crezee is a 24 year old dj born and raised in Amsterdam. In such a small city it was only a matter of time before I would have filmed Victor for my ONE MINUTE project. As a dj he is now broadening his horizon and spins the newer UK sounds under his - and a friend's - alter ego 'Teenage Lady Killers'. The ONE MINUTE we did is a quirky one and tongue-in-cheek. Hope you like it! To catch up with my ONE MINUTE series, please check and subscribe to the vimeo channel.
